An Introduction to Trauma-Informed Care in Anti-Trafficking Services is a 1.5-hour session designed for professionals in the anti-trafficking field who wish to embed trauma-informed care within their services. The training will give participants a foundation for trauma-informed care in the anti-trafficking field. Participants will learn practical applications of trauma-informed care acrossservices for human trafficking survivors.

Presenter
Katie Papke
Katie Papke (she/her) is a human trafficking survivor leader and a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker, Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a Clinically Certified Human Trafficking Victims Services Provider. She has a passion for working with victims and survivors of human trafficking, intimate partner violence, and other forms of abuse. Her specialty is working with teens and adults with a history of trauma, eating disorders, substance abuse, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking. She is a School of Social Work Program Associate Professor at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, teaching classes on human trafficking and homelessness. She is a national Health, Education, Advocacy, and Linkage (HEAL) Trafficking speaker.
Katie was recently awarded the “40 under 40 Boston Congress of Public Health Catalyst Award” for her achievement in shaping human trafficking as a public health concern.
