Module 1- Stages of Change Training by Social Strategies

Social Strategies is pleased to announce our Fall dates for the web-based version of Responding to Sex Trafficking of Youth: Advanced Skills training series.  Each of the 3-hour Modules is eligible for 3 CEUs. 

  • Module 1- Stages of Change on November 12th or December 2nd from 9am-12:15pm PST

Description

This training series is 3 stand-alone modules that can be taken alone or combined.  It is geared towards service providers who have foundational knowledge about sex trafficking and are ready for a deeper dive into skills and practice.  This training series covers three topic areas: Stages of Change, Safety Planning, and Running Away Behavior to explore specific needs and strategies for working with young people who have experienced sexual exploitation and trafficking.

Series Learning Objectives: 

  • Explore the Stages of Change: behavior change theory, model, and application; and learn how to shape responses to each Stage of Change.

  • Examine different types of safety, and contexts for what makes people feel safe.

  • Practice skills to build safety into relationships and learn concrete strategies for creating and supporting implementation of safety plans.

  • Learn the pull/pull factors and steps for responding to running away behaviors.
