Secondary Trauma Prevention Training Series

Secondary Trauma Prevention Training Series specifically designed for advocates working with survivors of violence. This free, bi-monthly virtual series is open to anyone working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and or other forms harm. The series aims to empower advocates with practical strategies for navigating vicarious trauma and fostering resilience, while providing a devoted time for trauma stewardship.

The Secondary Trauma Prevention Training Series aims to:

  1. Create a safe space for advocates to address their experiences in direct service.

  2. Enhance understanding of vicarious trauma and secondary traumatic stress.

  3. Develop coping skills and enhance protective/resiliency factors.

  4. Empower advocates to utilize coping skills and foster resilience against burnout.

What To Expect?

Each session offers a structured space to focus on building resiliency skills that can be applied to everyday life, including mindfulness, grounding, and other techniques. Participants will develop self-awareness through self-assessments, journal exercises, and questionnaires, with opportunities to contribute or observe as they feel comfortable.
