Juneteenth Art Sale

  • 1211 East Alder Street Seattle, WA, 98122 United States (map)

The art pieces were created by young people in the Juvenile Court’s Education and Employment Program, by youth on electronic monitoring, and our young people’s friends and family members.

The Education and Employment Training program includes an art program for a variety of reasons:

  • the creation of art can be a valuable and healing practice for those impacted by trauma;

  • to help young people learn aspects art creation, reproduction and sales as a potential income stream;

  • to help our young people develop and strengthen soft skills that are so valuable in work and life;

  • communication, leadership, teamwork, problem solving, time management, and critical thinking.
