Webinar: The Intersection of Substance Abuse Harm Reduction Strategies and Human Trafficking: A Panel Discussion
When: Wednesday, February 28 at 2 PM
Hosted by: Montclair State University
Overview: Substance use disorder (SUD) is common among victims of human trafficking. Existing SUDs may be used to force individuals into trafficking or they may experience facilitated drug use to keep them compliant. Substance abuse is also not an uncommon way for survivors to cope with the trauma resulting from their trafficking experience. To provide a victim-centered and trauma-informed response to this vulnerable population, we must gain a better understanding of the intersection of SUD’s and trafficking.
