Is it Depression or Dysphoria? Expanding the Frame of What Dysphoria is and How it Presents

eQuality Learning Sessions. The experiences and presentation of dysphoria can vary and be complex for providers and those experiencing it. This workshop will discuss depression and anxiety as dysphoria rather than independent or outside of it and expand our view of dysphoria to include fear, grief, and trauma. We will explore the pitfalls and limitations of the "what is what" model and how to provide gender-affirming care to clients who may have reservations about identifying their experiences within a dysphoria framework.
