Children & youth behavioral health access report available
In accordance with RCW 74.09.495, Health Care Authority (HCA) produces a legislative report each year on access to behavioral health services for children and youth enrolled in Apple Health (Medicaid). The most recent report, which covers data from 2021, is now available online.
Key results include:
In 2021, 1 in 3 children and youth enrolled in Apple Health did not receive needed mental health services.
In 2021, 3 in 4 Apple youth enrolled in Apple Health did not receive needed substance use disorder (SUD) services.
