TRAINING ANNOUNCEMENT RESPONDING TO SEXUAL EXPLOITATION AND TRAFFICKING OF YOUTH: TRAINING OF TRAINERS (ToT) CREATED AND FACILITATED BY LESLIE BRINER, MSW

Description:
This Training of Trainers (ToT) will prepare people to deliver the evidence-based Responding to Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking of Youth foundational training in a flexible format.
Responding to Sexual Exploitation and Trafficking of Youth prepares service providers and first responders to identify, engage, and support sexually exploited youth. Topics include laws and definitions, language, the landscape of exploitation, identification, and engagement. The ToT is three online sessions, 3 hours each. Participants must attend all three sessions, as well as complete a 1-hour online training, prior to starting the training on March 13th, 2023. Space is limited.

For over 20 years, Leslie Briner, MSW has served families
experiencing homelessness, youth with developmental disabilities, youth in the foster care system, and, since 2005, has worked with commercially sexually exploited (CSE) youth. She has designed, implemented, and directed services for sexually exploited and trafficked youth and developed comprehensive training on the topics of sexual exploitation and trafficking. To date, she has trained over 8000 people, and provides consultation on these issues in Washington State and
across the country.

One week before the course, participants will receive a 1-hour, online, self-paced training that is required prior to attending the Training of Trainers.
Candidates should have:
• Professional or lived experience with commercial sexual exploitation, trafficking, and/or directly related topics.
• Experience training, teaching, facilitating, and/or working with groups.
• The intent and ability to train on this curriculum in your communities and/or agencies.
